TERMS OF SERVICE
These terms apply to junk removal, cleanout and light demolition services provided by MEGAJUNK Junk Removal Co. (“MEGAJUNK,” “we,” “us”) of Coon Rapids, Minnesota, and to your use of megajunkmn.com.
They’re written in plain language on purpose. We’d rather you actually read them than skim past a wall of fine print.
This page is a plain-language summary of how we work. It is not legal advice, and it doesn’t replace a written agreement for a specific job.
THE MOST IMPORTANT PART
ESTIMATES ARE NOT FIRM PRICES.
A quote we give you by text or by phone is a free, no-obligation estimate, based on the photos and description you provide. It is not a binding price. We cannot see everything in a photo, so we treat it as our best honest read of the job — not a contract.
- Four items or fewer: jobs of four items or fewer may be given a firm price by text.
- Larger jobs: anything bigger receives an estimated range rather than a single number.
- Every estimate is free and carries no obligation to book.
Your exact price is confirmed in person, in writing, before any work begins. The crew looks at the actual load, gives you the number, and you approve it before anything is lifted.
- Once you approve the on-site price, it does not increase mid-job.
- If you don’t accept the on-site price, you owe nothing — there is no trip charge and no show-up fee. We shake hands and drive away.
- If you’re not going to be home, you can approve the price by text or phone before we start instead.
What Can Change an Estimate
An on-site price differs from a texted estimate only when the job itself is different from what we were shown. In practice that means:
- Items that weren’t visible in the photos — the stuff behind, under, or inside what you sent.
- Additional volume — the load takes up more space in the truck than the photos suggested.
- Difficult access — stairs, long carries, tight doorways, narrow alleys, or no place to park the truck near the load.
- Heavy materials — dirt, concrete, brick, tile and shingles are priced by bedload rather than by volume.
Whatever the reason, the number is settled with you before the work starts, never during it and never after.
Our Price-Beat Promise
We beat any written estimate from a competitor. To qualify, the competitor’s estimate must be:
- A written estimate — printed, emailed or texted; a number someone said out loud doesn’t count.
- For the same scope of work — the same items, the same access, the same property.
- Presented to us before we begin the job.
One price-beat per job, and it can’t be combined with other discounts.
WHAT YOU PAY FOR
PRICING TERMS.
Our pricing is volume-based: you pay for the space your load fills in our truck. Rates run from a $125.00 minimum charge for single small items up to $690.00 for a full truck load, with fractional loads priced in between.
Every volume rate includes a 2-man crew, all labor, heavy lifting, loading, and standard disposal fees. On top of the volume rate, two things are charged separately:
- Specialty per-item surcharges for items that require special handling or recycling — freon appliances, TVs and computer monitors, mattresses and box springs, and tires.
- Bedload rates for heavy material — dirt, concrete, brick, tile and shingles — which are priced by how high they fill the bed of the truck rather than by volume.
The complete rate card, including every fractional load, all specialty surcharges and both bedload rates, is published on our pricing page and those published figures are the rates we work from.
Payment
The price you approved on-site is the price you pay, and payment is due when the job is finished. If a job needs different arrangements — a landlord, an estate, a business account — agree it with us in writing before we start.
The job is complete and payment is due when the load is on the truck. Because ownership passes on loading and material is disposed of, donated, or recycled right away, the service can’t be undone. If you have a card on file, you authorize us to charge it for the agreed total and for any balance left unpaid. Past-due balances may accrue a late charge of 1.5% per month (18% per year), or the maximum Minnesota law allows, whichever is less, plus reasonable costs of collection.
WHERE THE LINE IS
DEMOLITION LIMITS.
We perform light, non-structural demolition only: sheds, decks, fences, playsets, hot tub demo, above-ground pools, plus concrete patios and small slabs. We do not perform interior demolition, garage teardowns, or any structural work.
We do not perform:
- Structural or load-bearing demolition of any kind.
- Work that requires a permit we don’t hold, including whole-building teardowns and utility disconnects.
- Asbestos or hazardous-material abatement, which is licensed, regulated work.
Demolition debris is priced by volume like any other load; concrete and masonry are priced at the bedload rates. If a job turns out to need a licensed structural contractor or a certified abatement crew, we’ll say so before you’ve paid us anything.
THE SHORT NO LIST
ITEMS WE CANNOT ACCEPT.
- Chemicals & solvents
- Oils
- Wet paint
- Asbestos
- Gasoline & fuel
- Propane tanks
- Storage & oil drums
- Oil & waste storage tanks
- Medical & biohazard waste
- Ammunition, firearms & explosives
Storage and oil drums can only be taken if they are empty with the top and bottom removed. Can’t take one of these? We’ll point you to a safe local disposal site — just ask. The full list lives on our What We Take page.
Scheduling & Access
We work Monday through Saturday, 7am–7pm, across the Twin Cities metro. Arrival windows are our best estimate — traffic, weather and the job before yours can move them, and we’ll text you if that happens.
- You’ll provide safe, legal access to the pickup location, including parking for the truck.
- Tell us up front about stairs, elevators, gate codes, HOA rules or building hours so we bring the right crew and time.
- If we arrive and the location can’t be safely accessed, we’ll work out a new time with you rather than force it.
Your Responsibilities
- You own the items being removed, or you have the owner’s permission to have them removed.
- Items removed become MEGAJUNK’s property to donate, recycle, or dispose of — double-check for valuables, documents and keys before we load.
- Hazardous materials are not included in any job; please set them aside before we arrive.
Our Service
We’re licensed and insured. We take reasonable care in your home and on your property; if we cause damage, tell us right away and we’ll make it right. We donate and recycle whatever we can — where items are donated, receipts are provided as a courtesy and aren’t tax advice.
Ownership & What Happens to Your Items
By booking a pickup you confirm that you own the items being removed, or that you are authorized by the owner to have them removed. Ownership of everything we load passes to MEGAJUNK at the moment it goes on the truck. We may donate, recycle, or dispose of it immediately, which means items cannot be reclaimed or returned once loaded. Please remove all cash, jewelry, firearms, medication, documents, and personal data from any electronics before we arrive — we don’t sort or inspect loads for valuables, and we can’t be responsible for something included by mistake.
Damage Claims
We take reasonable care, but moving large items through doorways, stairwells, and tight spaces carries some risk, and a loaded truck is heavy on driveways. Point out any pre-existing damage before we start. If we do cause damage, tell us right away: claims must be reported in writing within three (3) business days of the service date, with photos, and before any repair is made, so we have a fair chance to inspect it. We’ll repair, replace, or pay the reasonable cost of repair, at our option.
Liability
To the maximum extent Minnesota law allows, MEGAJUNK’s total liability for any claim related to a job is limited to the amount you paid for that job. We’re not liable for indirect or consequential damages. Nothing here limits liability that can’t be limited by law.
Website
Site content is provided as-is for general information. Published rates are current at the time of posting and can change; the price that applies to your job is the one confirmed with you on-site. The MEGAJUNK name, logo, and site content are ours — please don’t copy them.
Governing Law & Contact
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Minnesota, and any dispute is brought in the state courts of Anoka County, Minnesota. Either party may still bring a qualifying claim in conciliation (small claims) court. Questions about anything on this page? Call or text 763-303-2091, Mon–Sat 7am–7pm. See also our Privacy Policy.
Plain-language summary, not legal advice. For jobs where you sign our Service Agreement, that signed agreement and its Terms & Conditions control. If your situation needs a formal contract — a property management agreement, an estate, a commercial account — call us and we’ll put the specifics in writing before the job.
